Who Is Behind This Site: ClearMax Labs, Remote Only
dentaltechdesk.com is operated by ClearMax Labs and run by its founder, Jalen May. The number on this site rings ClearMax Labs, not a call center, and the person who does the work calls back. The work is remote, for dental practices in and around New York City. ClearMax Labs is licensed and insured.

What is covered?
Everything an Open Dental practice's software runs on: the Windows server and its MySQL service, the shared image folder, the network, the workstations and printers, antivirus exclusions, remote access with MFA, tested backups, and a patch schedule that reboots the server after hours. The program, its conversions, upgrades and eServices belong to the vendor. When the fault is theirs, ClearMax opens the ticket under the practice's subscription and stays on it.
The work is dental-led. ClearMax also serves other regulated businesses whose software has the same shape.
Why a written program, not just a fix?
New York's SHIELD Act asks any business holding a resident's private information to develop, implement and maintain reasonable safeguards, administrative, technical and physical, including how data is disposed of. For a small business, which the act defines as fewer than fifty employees, under three million dollars in revenue, or under five million in assets, the safeguards are allowed to fit the size and complexity of the business. So each practice gets a short written note after every job. Over a year those notes become the program, at a size that fits a practice.
What is not done here
- Writing to or modifying the vendor's program, its database schema or its eServices.
- Version upgrades or conversions. The vendor runs those; the server and backup are prepared around them.
- Quoting by phone without seeing the server. Scoped and quoted after a free assessment.
- Anything on site. Cabling or a server moved between floors is arranged with a contractor the practice chooses.
If the practice cannot work, the contact page has the number. If the question is bigger, start at the cloud or server page.
